The best thing to do is to get a cheap tape recorder first, and tape yourself reading the instructions aloud for each of the exercises. You can also work to challenge any negative thoughts that you may have by considering the facts and finding reasonable alternatives to your anxiety. My only hope is no one in my family is stupid or selfish enough to keep me alive on life support should it ever come down to that situation. While negative beliefs, or worrying about worrying, adds to your anxiety and keeps worry going, positive beliefs about worrying can be just as damaging. It certainly calms my nerves and relaxes my body, and it even helps me get my mind off of things i have no control over.
Stop worrying about things you cannot control by managing and diminishing your worries through practicing self care and finding ways to limit your fears.
